Just as genetic diversity is needed for survival, diversity of thought (different skills, knowledge and perspective) among employees is needed for businesses to succeed.
Stormtrooper problem – employees tend to be similar as security clearance is difficult if there is any small issue in potential employees. This leads to similar people (stormtroopers) which leads to reduced creativity, innovation, problem solving leading to reduced efficiency.
Diversity in employees would help companies to thrive as they would adapt faster and have employees with different skillsets in different functions.
