10. Interjections

Interjections are words used to convey emotion, typically strong or sudden emotion. Interjections are usually followed by exclamation marks.

Example: congratulations, hey, alas, of course, yay, etc.

Ouch! That hurts!
Finally! My homework is done.
Hurrah! India won the cricket match!
Awesome! We won the match!
Hey, at least I tried.
Oops, I forgot to get your notebook.

Not everything which is followed by an exclamation mark will be an interjection. You must understand whether the writer is trying to express a strong emotion in the sentence.
